Security, cameras and access control for homes

Surveillance, intrusion alarm, video intercom, smart locks and Brivo access control — monitored, integrated with the home, and installed by a licensed New York low-voltage contractor.

Security that is part of the home, not bolted onto it.

The best residential security is layered and quiet: cameras that cover every approach, an alarm that arms itself when the house goes to "Away", a doorbell that shows the visitor on the nearest screen, and locks and gates that know who is allowed in and when.

We design security systems on the same network and platform as the rest of the house, so everything is visible in one app and one event can trigger lights, cameras and notifications together.

Security questions

Do you provide central station monitoring?

Yes. Alarm systems we install can be monitored 24/7 by a UL-listed central station, with police, fire and medical dispatch. You can also receive notifications and video directly on your phone.

Can I see my cameras from my phone and from the home system?

Yes. Cameras are viewable from the Digital Watchdog or UniFi app anywhere, and from the same Savant or Control4 interface that runs the house — so a doorbell press pops the camera up on the touchscreen or TV.

What is Brivo and why use it in a home?

Brivo is a cloud-based access control platform used in commercial buildings. In residences and multi-family buildings it lets you issue and revoke credentials (mobile, card or fob) for family, staff and guests, keeps a log of every entry, and can control doors, gates and even elevator floors — as we did at 84 University Place.

How long is video retained?

That is a design choice. Typical residential systems keep 30 days of continuous or event-based recording on a local NVR; we size storage for the number of cameras, resolution and retention you want. Cloud backup is available for critical cameras.
